The White House is conveniently close to train and bus stations. The nearby Pound Lane car park is only 50 metres from our front door and offers 190 secure on-site parking spaces for cars and motorcycles, with CCTV coverage for added protection. Please note that we hold concessionary vouchers for this car park. Guests with heavy luggage or mobility difficulties are welcome to drop off at our front door before parking.

Motorists enjoy easy access to and from Canterbury, via the A2/M2 with direct links to the southern road network and Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Canterbury has two railway stations with trains to London and Ashford, Ashford International Station, offering direct services to Paris and Brussels, is about 15 miles away. The Channel Tunnel Terminal at Folkestone and the Channel Port at Dover are a similar distance.

Directions to The White House, From the Railway stations: Canterbury West
Turn right out of the station, and walk down 'Station Road West'. At the bottom of this road turn left. Ahead will be seen the medieval West Gate Tower; go through the arch way
(for pedestrians it's just to the left of it) and take the 2nd turning on the left, which is St. Peter's Lane. We are on the right about 30 seconds walk down this lane directly opposite the junction with Westgate Hall Road.

Canterbury East
Take the footbridge over the ring-road and follow signs for the city centre. Once at the pedestrian main high street turn left, following signs for the Marlowe Theatre, which is in 'The Friars' towards the end of the high street. Don't turn down here, however - St Peter's Lane is the next lane on the right (nearer the West Gate Tower, which will be clearly visible in front of you). The White House is about sixty metres along on the right.

Directions to The White House, Driving via the M25 (from the west)
At M25 junction 5 take right-hand lanes, then join the M26 motorway (signposted Maidstone, Channel Tunnel, Dover). Continue forward to join the M20.

Leave the M20 at junction 7 (signposted Maidstone, Sheerness), then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto Sittingbourne Road - A249 (signposted Sittingbourne, Sheerness).

Ascend Detling Hill up to the Junction with M2. At roundabout take the 1st exit, then join the M2 motorway (signposted Margate, Dover). Leave the M2 at junction 7 (signposted Canterbury, Dover), then at roundabout take the 4th exit onto the A2 (signposted Canterbury, Dover). Continue forward onto the A2. Entering Boughton Under Blean Branch left (signposted Canterbury), then merge onto the A2050. Continue forward onto the A2050 entering Canterbury.

At London Road Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Rheims Way - A2050. At the next (St Peters) Roundabout take the 1st exit onto St Peters Place and continue to the end where the road bends sharply to the left immediately in front of The West Gate Tower. Just beyond the West Gate is a mini roundabout; turn right (3rd exit) off it, into North Lane. Just before the next roundabout take the first right over the Causeway, turn left at the end and St Peter's Lane is almost immediately on your right. Turning down here, The White House is on the left hand side opposite Westgate Hall Road.

Via the M2
(From London) Take the A2 towards Dover, Leave the M2 at junction 7 (signposted Canterbury, Dover), then at roundabout take the 4th exit onto the A2 (signposted Canterbury, Dover). Continue forward onto the A2. Entering Boughton Under Blean Branch left (signposted Canterbury), then merge onto the A2050. Continue forward onto the A2050 entering Canterbury.

From Dover
At Eastern Docks Roundabout take the 1st exit onto Jubilee Way A2 (signposted Canterbury A2) to ascend Jubilee Way (5%). At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A2 (signposted Canterbury) At next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A2 (signposted Canterbury). Continue forward (signposted London M2) until you reach the junction for Canterbury.

Branch left (signposted Canterbury) onto slip road off the A2. At traffic signals turn right into Thanington Road (A28 signposted Canterbury). Follow road until you pass below a brick railway bridge at Wincheap Roundabout where you take the 1st exit onto Rheims Way (A290 signposted London). At St Peters Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto St Peters Place - A290 (signposted Whitstable) and continue to the end where the road bends sharply to the left immediately in front of The West Gate Tower.
