There are many restaurants and pubs in Canterbury, offering a wide selection of fayre, traditional or continental, something for all tastes. A handful of very local fares are set out below:

Cafe Rouge Longmarket, St George's Street.
Wagamammas Noodle Bar Longmarket, St George's Street.
The Thomas Becket 21 Best Lane Typical pub fare - reasonably-priced main meals.
Cafe St Pierre 41 St Peter's St Tea/coffee/ hot chocolate. Snack lunches.
Cafe des Amis de Mexique 95 St Dunstan's St (opposite the Westgate) Mexican, generally needs advanced booking!
Pizza Express 5 Best Lane Overlooks the River Stour.
Cafe Nero 44 High St Amazing Elizabethan ceiling in first-floor room of this coffee bar.
Wetherspoon's Northgate. Pub grub and a varying selection of ales.
Zizzi's 53 St Peters St Beautiful walled garden. The restaurant occupies Cogan House, one of Canterbury's oldest houses.
Debenhams Buttermarket Cafe on ground floor, cafeteria restaurant in basement - good selection.
Fish & Chips 29A St Margaret's St - 'take away'.

We can provide a far more extensive list if requested.
(Please note that we cannot guarantee the list will be fully up to date, due to the constant changes in restaurants etc.)
